About This Grass
Medium to coarse-textured turfgrass with a bunch-forming habit, deep green color, and high vertical growth rate. When unmowed it can reach 2 to 4 feet, but maintained lawns stay at 2 to 3 inches. Produces an open panicle seed head at maturity.
Blade Characteristics
Blades are medium-coarse (4-8mm wide), flat with prominent parallel veins on the upper surface and a shiny underside. Tip is pointed. Vernation is rolled in the bud. Ligule is a very short membrane, and auricles are absent.

Exceptionally deep root system (often 2 to 3 feet deep or more), fibrous, low thatch-making tendency, moderate establishment speed, excellent drought avoidance due to deep roots.
