About This Grass
Forms a moderately dense, upright turf with a medium-coarse texture. Unmowed height can reach 2 to 4 feet, but maintained lawns are typically kept between 2.5 and 4 inches. Color is rich medium-to-dark green with good year-round color retention in mild climates. Seed heads are open panicles.
Blade Characteristics
Blades are medium-to-wide (4-8mm), flat with prominent parallel veins and a rough texture on the margins. Vernation is rolled in the bud. Leaf tips are pointed. Ligule is short and membranous, and auricles are absent or blunt/rounded.
