About This Grass
Forms a moderately dense, upright turf with a coarse to medium texture. Unmowed, it can reach heights of 2 to 4 feet, but when maintained as a lawn, it is typically kept at 2 to 3 inches. Color is rich medium to dark green, maintaining good color into late autumn and early winter. Shows moderate drought-induced semi-dormancy in extreme summer heat.
Blade Characteristics
Blades are medium to coarse in width (4-8mm), flat with prominent parallel veins on the upper surface and a shiny underside. Tips are pointed rather than boat-shaped. Vernation is rolled in the bud. The collar is broad and distinct, with small or absent auricles and a very short membranous ligule.
Root System
