About This Grass
Forms a deep, upright, medium-to-coarse textured turf of medium-to-dark green color. Unmowed, it can grow up to 2 to 4 feet tall in clumps, but when maintained as a lawn, it forms a dense, uniform carpet. Tolerates heat and drought better than most other cool-season grasses.
Blade Characteristics
Blades are medium-to-wide (4-10 mm), flat, with pointed tips, prominent parallel veins, and a shiny underside. Vernation is rolled in the bud. The ligule is a short membrane, and auricles are absent or blunt.
