About This Grass
Forms a dense, upright, medium-to-coarse textured turf. Unmowed height can reach 2 to 4 feet, but maintained lawns are kept at 2 to 3.5 inches. Color is a rich medium-to-dark green with good year-round color retention in moderate climates.
Blade Characteristics
Medium to coarse width (3-8mm), flat shape with prominent veins on the upper surface, pointed tips, rolled in the bud (vernation). Features a distinct membranous ligule, small or absent auricles, and a broad collar.
Root System
Exceptionally deep root system (often reaching 2 to 3 feet or more), fibrous with strong drought-avoidance capabilities. Moderate establishment speed, minimal thatch-forming tendency.
