About This Grass

Blade Characteristics
Blades are medium to coarse in width (3-6mm), flat with prominent parallel veins and a distinct midrib beneath, giving them a ribbed appearance. Tip shape is pointed (not boat-shaped). Vernation is rolled in the bud. Ligule is a short membrane, auricles are blunt and rounded (or absent), and the collar is broad and continuous.
