Tall Fescue is a robust, bunch-forming cool-season grass with a medium-to-coarse texture. Unmowed height can reach 2 to 4 feet, while maintained turf heights range from 2 to 3.5 inches. Color is a rich medium-to-dark green with excellent retention in moderate temperatures. It features prominent veins and upright growth.
Blade Characteristics
Blades are medium-to-coarse in width (4-8 mm), flat to slightly folded, with pointed tips and a distinctly ribbed upper surface. Vernation is rolled in the bud. The ligule is a short membranous collar with absent or small auricles.
