About This Grass

A fine-textured, low-growing grass with a dense, tufted habit. It features a deep blue-green to grayish-green color, maintaining a relatively uniform appearance even in poor soils. Seed heads are narrow panicles emerging on stiff stalks in late spring.

Extremely fine width (<1.5mm); tightly folded (involute) or needle-like; pointed tip; blue-green color; folded vernation; ligule is very short and membranous; auricles are absent; sheath is split.

Deep, fibrous root system for a cool-season grass; very slow establishment speed; low thatch producer; excellent drought tolerance due to root depth.
