About This Grass
Forms a moderately coarse, upright turf with a bunching tendency. When unmanaged, it can grow up to 2-4 feet tall, but when maintained as a lawn it is kept at 2-3 inches. Color ranges from medium to dark green, maintaining green color well into autumn and winter. The texture is medium to coarse with prominent parallel veins on the upper leaf surface.
Blade Characteristics
Blades are medium in width (4-8mm), flat with prominent parallel veins and a rough, serrated edge. Tips are pointed. Vernation is rolled in the bud. The ligule is a very short membrane, and auricles are small, blunt, and clasping.
