About This Grass
Fine Fescue grows in tight, dense, needle-like tufts or patches. Unmowed height reaches 8-16 inches, while maintained turf sits at 1.5-3 inches. It features a bright to dark green color, extremely fine and bristly texture, and high density within its clumps.
Blade Characteristics
Blades are exceptionally fine, usually under 2mm in width, folded or rolled/involute, needle-like, with pointed tips. Color ranges from light green to blue-green. Vernation is folded in the bud with inconspicuous ligules and small or absent auricles.
