About This Grass
Forms a dense, high-quality turf with a rich medium-to-dark green color. Height ranges from 1.5 to 2.5 inches when maintained. Texture is medium-fine. Leaves have distinctive boat-shaped tips. Produces open, pyramid-shaped panicle seed heads when allowed to grow tall.
Blade Characteristics
Blades are medium-width (2-4mm), flat to folded with prominent parallel veins and parallel sides ending in a characteristic boat-shaped tip. Vernation is folded in the bud. Ligule is short and membranous. Auricles are absent.
Root System
Moderate depth (6-12 inches) fibrous root system combined with vigorous rhizomes. Forms a very dense sod, has a moderate to high tendency to produce thatch under high nitrogen, and has medium establishment speed from seed.
